Happy Thanksgiving to All

My life was very exciting this Thanksgiving. I know you are all just dying to hear the details......so here goes!
We left home Thursday morning for the cabin. It needed some finish work on the woodwork and then it needed to be closed for the winter. Friday morning I woke early. I thought I had a mosquito bite on the jowl on the right side of my jaw.
By noon it had grown to be egg sized. At 4:00 PM I went to the Emergency Hospital with a face swollen badly on the right side. They diagnosed it as Cellulitus, got me on IV with antibotics and took a CAT scan of my head (no comments here about finding nothing). My face was continuing to swell. They had no-one available to handle this so they sent me to Good Sam in Phoenix. So.....at 12:30 AM Grandma driving, we careened down the canyon to Phoenix.
I got a bed there at 4:30 AM and was kept on an IV. I was still swelling upward. They got blood cultures going and discovered that this was a staph infection. I got a lot of attention then.
They got it to stop growing and by Saturday evening it had started to go down. Finally....on Monday they said I would be able to go home but....... they had to put me on oral antibotics and I would have to take them for 24 hours at the hospital to make certain I didn't have a reaction. I previously had a reaction to Vancyomycin.
I didn't have a reaction until I found that I was getting ....$2600 for 28 pills.
Anyway I finally got out Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) morning, with cheaper pills, went to Ken's and had an absolutely marvelous Thanksgiving dinner, then drove home later that night. Arrived home at 1:00AM Friday.
There was a good side. I got visits from Ken, Sue, Cody, and Kaela. Mike and Gail came with Dr. Amber. Cameron and Chucks brother Ben came and Cameron gave be a beautiful blessing. Josh and Holly II came up from Tucson. Mike and Colby came in. Doris came, and Dr. Amber came by himself and his impact in my behalf was very noticable.
I'm not allowed to shave for fear of scratching my face so I am rapidly starting to look like Santa. It will be another two weeks before I shave. Pics will follow!
What a great family I have!
